Valuation of damage to forest species stems
1996
Petras, R. (Lesnicky Vyskumny Ustav T.G. Masaryka, Zvolen (Slovakia))
A new methodology was developed and model data were deduced for valuation of damage to forest stands after mechanical injury of trees or tree parts especially by logging operations, game browsing and bark stripping. The latest tools for production estimation were used, such as mathematical models of growth and assortment tables. The formula for damage valuation comprises the loss of the net value yield of wood production, expressed as total average increment and number of years until the forest stand is felled. The loss of the net yield of total average value increment is deduced from the difference in these increments between the damaged and intact stand.
