Relationship between varieties and number of plants per hole of yardlongbean cultivars

The average yield of yardlongbean in Indonesia is low compared to the research results. The yield of yardlongbean depends on the variety used, population per unit area, (the number of plants per hole, plant distance), the number of pods per plant and the length of pods. The number of plants treated were: one, two, and three plants per hole of 6 varieties of yardlong beans. The experiment was conducted at Kp. Cipaku, Bogor on June-October, 1991. Result of the experiment showed that the number of seeds per hole influenced negatively on the weight of young pods yield and the length of pod, but not on the yield per unit area
