[Some determining factors of integrating the transmigrants with the native people in transmigration area Papan Rejo, Kotabumi, Lampung Utara district, Lampung (Indonesia)]

This research is conducted to understand the performance of integration in transmigration location, specially between local people and immigrants at desa Papan Rejo, Kotabumi district. This research used descriptive method, data were collected by using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation from around 30 samples among families. Those samples were taken by using simple random sampling and data were analyzed based on the qualitative analysis by using single table frequency. Based on Hasan Mangunrai opinion, relating to six factors which determine the integration with the local people, the result of the research shows: 1. the understanding of transmigrants towards the local people, 2. the openness of the local people, 3. self adaptation of each other, 4. the equality of economic and social behaviour, 5. the same religion, and 6. guidance from the government about the importance of this integration. This study also shows that the performance of the integration at desa Papan Rejo is not running well. Moreover, conflict often happened over the lands. Therefore explanation and guidance from the government are needed to have good integration between transmigrants and the local people
