Effect of the addition of increased levels of supplement on the biological feed value. An experiment was conducted to evaluate biological feed value to which were added different levels of supplement. In this experiment four male fistulated buffaloes, with body weight around 178 kg, and 1.5-2 years old were used as experimental animal. Different levels of supplements were fed, A = without supplement as control, B = 250 grams, C = 350 grams, and D = organic matters digestibility (in-vivo method), pH, VFA, N-NH3 and rumen microbial growth rate using P-32 as tracer. The result indicated that supplement B had optimal effect on biological feed value, while supplement C and D had lower effect on biological value. The parameters of B were 38.20 and 37.25 percent for in-vivo dry and organic matter digestibility. In-vivo digestibility were 39.86 (12 hours) for dry matters, and 28.79 (12 hours), and 35.82 percent (24 hours) for organic matters. The values were 7.18; 6.88 mmol/100 ml; 17.82 mg/100 ml; 25.80 mg/100 ml/hours, for pH, VFA, N-NH3 and microbial growth rate respectivelly
