Qualitative production in mixed oak beech stands
1996
Korpel, S. (Zvolen Technical Univ. (Slovakia))
The author deals with the influence of different variants of selective height thinning and spontaneous development (in control plots) on the quality of wood production in mixed oak-beech stands originating from natural regeneration in Slovakia. The intensity of thinning was 18-28% from volume and the thinning intervals were 4-10 years. The volume of crop trees is after the 6th thinning 55% bigger in comparison with control plots. The crop-trees account for 50% of the growing stock.
