[Valorization of files of bibliographical information on Venezuelan soils "VARIBEV"]

Under the umbrela FONAIAP-FUNDACION POLAR and Venezuelan Soil Science Society participation, is working the "VARIBEV" Project. This project has been designed in order to ensure the continuity of the compilation of documents about Venezuelan Soil Science, initiated in 1972. The principal goal in 1994 was the incorporation of 853 AGRIS worksheets for transcription in "BEV" Data Base. Still in preparation is a normalized Soil Science Vocabulary compatible with AGROVOC-FAO; 8th Supplement and 9th Volume of Venezuelan Soil Science Bibliography were published. In 1995 we are going to intensify the distribution process, among National and International Agronomy Libraries, and information services. It could be very easy to establish a real communicated REDIAGRO by using Agricultural Information Systems: AGRIS-FAO, as a support. Actually "BEV" Data Base, is consolidated with 2430 References-Summaries in Soil Science.
