English. Cyanide produced by the forage sorghum plant due to cyanogenic glucoside (Dhurrim) present in different stages of the crop, was evaluated. The dhurrim synthesis is connected with soil fertility and particularly linked to its nitrogen-phosphorus ratio. The maximal concentrations were found in plants grown on soils and at early phenologic stages. Besides, the concentrartion of nitrates present in the plant was quantified at the same time of the cyanide determination. An inverse ratio was obtained.

El objetivo del trabajo es determinar el contenido potencial de acido cianhidrico (HCN) en las plantas de sorgo forrajero proveniente de concentraciones variables de glucosido cianogenetico (durrina) presente en los distintos estadios de cultivo. La cantidad de durrina formada por la planta esta vinculada con la fertilidad del suelo y principalmente ligada con la relacion nitrogeno-fosforo y en estados fisiologicos tempranos. Ademas se cuantificaron los nitratos presentes en la planta en el mismo momento que se realizo la determinacion de acido cianhidrico obteniendose una relacion inversa.
