The paper presents the proposal of an approach to the classification of agricultural soils from a viewpoint of their sensitivity to mobility of heavy metals. Soil property most affecting the mobility of heavy metals was pH and its point rating in this study amounts to 60% with respect to the total content of heavy metals. As to the humus, except its total amount its quality expressed by colour quotient was also considered. Both these parameters represent about 35% with respect to heavy metals content. Another soil property participating in mobilization of heavy metals is abundance of clay which is in this assessment equal to 25%.
