The studied material consisted of the green fodder from the Jerusalem artichoke, Kulista czerwona variety, gathered prior to harvesting its tubers. The high content of lignin decreases nutrients digestibility of the green fodder and its use in animal feeding. The green fodder from the Jerusalem artichoke, containing 1.72 MJ NEL and 13.6 g of total digestible protein in 1 kg of fodder, is comparable with the green fodder from the sunflower.
