[Response of selected potato varieties to cutting seed tubers]

The effect of planting of cut tubers on tuber yield, number of stems, dry matter content in tubers and infestation of tubers by dry and wet rots was investigated at the end of storage period. The variety and year had a significant effect, comparatively lower the cutting of tubers. The use of cut tubers affected the most the number of stems per one hill. Dry matter content of tubers was not affected by the use of cut tubers. Investigation of the occurrence of dry and wet rots showed the significant effect of the year and variety. Certain growth of share of infested tubers was recorded on average when cut tubers were used.
