An experiment was conducted to examine the effect of rumen-protected methionine (SmartamineMT M) supplementation to corn and grass silages-based diets of dairy cows. 12 g methionine (head/day) was added to the diet of one group of cows (experimental group), whereas the diet of the other group (control group) was without methionine. The rumen-protected methionine supplement in the diet of lactating cows could increase milk yield and milk protein production. It does not affect lactose and fat contents in milk.
