The position of maize cob at the beginning of its threshing in relationship to grain damage

Laboratory and field measurements on harvester-thresher adjusted for maize threshing showed more advantagenous threshing when the cob is entering by the point, i.e. by the base or top. This way is economical, less demanding and grain-saving, i.e. less damaging the grain.
