Determination of some trace elements in soil using the ICP-AES method

Total content of Cu, Zn, Mo, Mn and V in soil using ICP-AES, Baird 2070 ICP method was tested. The samples were taken from parks in Brno. The increasing content of trace elements leading to critical concentration in soils was studied. Because the content of these elements in real samples was high and variable, a correspondent matrix was modelled. Results obtained show that high levels of trace elements are attributed to industrial emission and heavy traffic influence rather than background and chemical properties of soil.
