A control of number of chromosomes was performed in part of in vitro collection of yacon in the Czech Republic. Cytological determination of number of chromosomes in three ecotypes of yacon preserved in in vitro cultures on MS medium proved that all ecotypes observed have identical number of chromosomes - 58 (2n).
