Designed storage capacity of Juanda reservoir at normal level + 107 m is 2.970 billions m. After twenty two years ponded, the storage capacity has decreased to be 2.556 billions meter cubic and nine years later, it has gradually decreased to be 2.458 billions m. The decrease of storage capacity have been caused by sediment suspended on the bottom of reservoir. Based on the bottom of the intake gate III (+ 61.7 m), the effective storage of Juanda reservoir is about 2.239 billions meter cubic and dead storage is about 219.4 billions meter cubic. But if the lowest intake is the "hollow-jet", the effective storage will be 2.440 billions m and dead storage will be 17.9 millions meter cubic. Sounding in 1986 and in 1995 have given 162.1 millions meter cubic of the average volume difference or about 12.1 percent on average. The differences would be quite serious that caused the failure in the operation of Juanda reservoir. At last Perum Otorita Jatiluhur would suffer from disadvantage
