1975
Osuji, P.O. (Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Inst., St Augustine (Trinidad and Tobago))
In experiments with Fulani and Gudali cattle, daily water intake was estimated as 3.6 and 4.0 kg/kg of food DM for yearlings and calves respectively. Water intake was greater in January tant in December. Drinking activity was highest during the day (07.00-15.00 h). It was suggested that for such animals water once a day, an understanding of their drinking behaviour would help in their proper management.
