Corn productivity increase in upland by using organic matter

English. The study of organic matter effect of four kinds on three application intensities to corn in upland was conducted at Bumi Asih village, Panyipatan district, on rainy season 1993/94. A split plot design was used with three replications. Combination of four kinds of organic matter and its dosage as main plot, and three intensities of organic matter application as sub plot. Corn variety of Arjuna was planted in 75 cm x 20 cm spacing and one plant/hole. The basic fertilization of 90 kg N, 60 kg P2O5, 50 kg K2O and 1 t/ha lime were applied. The result of experiment indicated that kinds of organic matter and its dosages on three application of peanut straw and farmyard manure had similar effect to corn grain yield, and higher than corn and rice straw use. Corn and rice straw also had similar effect to corn yield. Organic matter application by one season interval was the best intensity, using any kinds of organic matter up to 5 t/ha for farmyard manure, peanut, maize and rice straw. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh macam bahan organik pada tiga intensitas pemberian terhadap hasil jagung di lahan kering, telah dilakukan penelitian di desa Bumi Asih Kecamatan Panyipatan pada MH 1993/94. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah dengan 3 ulangan. Petak utama adalah kombinasi dari macam bahan organik dan dosis, sedangkan anak petak adalah tiga intensitas pemberian. Jagung varietas Arjuna ditanam pada jarak 75 cm x 20 cm dengan 1 tanaman/lubang. Pupuk dasar 90 kg N, 60 kg P2O5, 50 kg K2O dan 1,0 ton kapur per hektar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa macam bahan organik dan dosis pada tiga intensitas pemberian berpengaruh terhadap hasil jagung. Pemberian bahan organik dari brangkasan kacang tanah dan pupuk kandang mempunyai efek yang sama terhadap hasil pipilan, dan hasilnya lebih tinggi dibanding jerami padi dan jagung. Pemberian berangkasan jagung dan jerami padi tidak berbeda nyata terhadap hasil. Pemberian bahan organik untuk semua jenis hingga dosis 5 t/ha dengan selang satu musim merupakan intensitas pemberian yang terbaik. Bahan organik bila diberikan berselang dua musim tanam, hasil pipilan kering menurun sebesar 6,19 persen dibanding dengan yang diberi secara terus menerus selama tiga musim tanam
