The effect of urolysis inhibitor (PPDA) added to urea on the yield and nitrogen content of spring wheat grain and straw, as well as its utilization from fertilizers were studied in the course of the three-year experiment. The activity of urea modified with urolysis inhibitor was compared with those of commercial urea and amonium nitrate. It was found that only the level of nitrogen fertilization and method of its application had a significant influence on spring wheat yield. The effect of PPDA was not confirmed. Nitrogen utilization from urea with PPDA was equal to 70 percent, i.e. by several percent higher than from the other fertilizers
