Quality characteristics of fruits of new blackcurrant selections breed in Skierniewice

Fruit samples from promising breeding selections, previously evaluated for their morphological character and resistance to the main fungal diseases, were analysed and compared with fruits of standard cultivars Ojebyn, Titania and Ben Lomond. On the basis of content of soluble solids, anthocyanins, ascorbic acid and organic acids five promising clones were selected. All of them were richer than Ojebyn in chemical substances analysed. Two were particularly abundant in ascorbic acid. Two clones: PC-78 (Tiben) and PC-84 (Tisel) were selected for field trials
