In India selection of superior trees as well as assessment of Eucalyptus clonal trials have mostly been on the basis quantitative traits like height, diameter at breast height and volume production. The method of assessment is illustrated with a case study on the evaluation of clonal trial of Eucalyptus raised by the Andhra Prades Forest Development Corporation, India. This method of selection is needed for identifying more number of clones for operational clonal forestry programmes in India as well
