Consequences of base cations decline in atmosphere are invsetigatred. Despite significant reductions of acid pollutants in atmosphere the effects on environment have not abated. Declines in atmosphere base cations impair balance between acid pollutants and base cations, and are reflected in reduction of soil supply with Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+, what can greatly imperil terrestrial ecosystems
