Lychuk, H.I. (Institute of Agriculture, Chabany, Kyiv region (Ukraine))
In the Ukraine's Polissya zone on a derno-podzolic sandy loam soil in a stationary trial, established in 1972 at Kopylovo Experimental Station of the Institute of Agriculture, long-term mineral fertilizer application, especially when using nonmoldboard cultivation, was found out to lead to deterioration of physical and chemical properties of the soil to a greater degree than at ploughing. Liming, especially compensating one (for 1 kg NH4NO3 - 2.5 kg CaCO3), is determined to favour for increase in effectiveness of fertilizers at ploughing by 11.5 %, at nonmoldboard cultivation - 53.8 %. As a result the gain in yield was achieved as follows: at ploughing from 33.2 c/ha to 42.2 c/ha, at nonmoldboard cultivation from 21.3 c/ha to 45.9 c/ha
