[Evaluation of quality and production performance of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius) varieties]
1998
Hofbauer, J. | Pelikan, J. (Vyzkumny Ustav Picninarsky, Troubsko u Brna (Czech Republic))
Some foreign varieties had lower yields than Czech variety Sabina, especially in bad climate condition in 1996 and 1998. Foreign varieties with high content of oil, which were tested, had flower heads rot (Botrytis cinerea). That is the reason for lower than average yields. Safflower is a perspective plant for growing in warm and dry region of the Czech Republic.
