English. The German paper industry has been globally oriented for several years now. In the face of strong competition its raw material mix was optimized. Thus, the input of domestic pulpwood decreased distinctly. German forestry considersthis to be a great problem on account of its silvicultural tending methods. Mutual understanding on this issue leaves much to be desired. From the paper industry's viewpoint forestry in Germany is neither sufficiently competitive nor market-oriented. A gradual change should be enforced. It is also necessary, however, for the paper industry to provide forestry with better prospects as regards wood demand, e.g. by the renewed increase in the production of chemical pulp in Germany.
Show more [+] Less [-]German. Die deutsche Papierindustrie ist seit einigen Jahren bereits global ausgerichtet. Ihren Rohstoffmix hat sie wettbewerbsbedingt optimiert. Dadurch ist der Einsatz heimischen Holzes deutlich zuruckgegangen. Die deutsche Forstwirtschaft sieht dies uberaus problematisch angesichts ihrer Pflegekonzepte. Das gegenseitige Verstandnis daruber ist allerdings gering. Aus der Sicht der Papierindustrie verhalt sich die Forstwirtschaft in Deutschland nicht genugend wettbewerbs- und marktgerecht. Ein beginnender Wandel muss forciert werden. Es ist jedoch auch notig, dass die Papierindustrie der Forstwirtschaft Perspektiven im Holzverbrauch eroffnet, etwa durch eine wieder ansteigende Zellstofferzeugung in Deutschland.
