The use of molecular markers for variety identification in fodder legumes

The method PCR-RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA) was used for identification of the varieties of alfalfa (Medicago sativa) and clover (Trifolium pratense) on DNA level. DNA was extracted from 5 days-old seedlings. At present the method is aimed at the selection of variety specific primers. The fragments were obtained after amplification with primers ABA n. 1 - 6 in alfalfa varieties Palava, Zuzana, Morava and diploid clover Start meanwhile their variety specification was not confirmed.
