The effect of different rates and forms of N fertilizers on the yield of maize, N content in plant biomass, and N uptake of above-ground biomass was investigated in the long-term experiment. Five treatments, unfertilized, two with mineral fertilizers (ammonium sulphate - SA, and urea ammonium nitrate solution - DAM), DAM + straw, and manure were set up in this experiment. The highest yield increment 52 % was found at manured treatment. The experiment showed the tendency to lower N content of plants at unfertilized treatment compare to fertilized ones. The N uptake was higher by 54 % at SA treatment, by 51 % at DAM, by 68 % at DAM + straw, and by 104% at manure treatment. The addition of organic matter in the soil showed a higher Norg and Nbio content compar to other treatments.
