[Sclerotium rolfsii test on several level of pH in vitro]

The experiment was aimed to asses the growth of Sclerotium rolfsii at different level of pH in vitro of PDA media. The experiment was conducted at Laboratory of Maros Research Institute for Maize and Cereals from March to May 1994. Six different level of pH i.e. 4.5; 5.5; 6.5; 7.5; 8.0 and 9.0 were tested. The result of test showed that Sclerotium rolfsii was grown at any level of pH, but the greatest diameter of myselium (5.50 cm) was reached at pH 4.5 and the shortest (2.65 cm) was at pH 8.0 and 9.0. Time allocated for mycelium to initially grow was 17 hours and the sclerotium formed after 4 days found at pH 5.5 and pH 6.5. The greatest amount of sclerotium formed was at pH 6.5 (536.5)
