Development and changes in fishery exploitation of the Lipno reservoir (1958-1997)

The evaluation of 40 years of fishery management of the Lipno Reservoir (4,850 ha) in the period 1958-1997 is presented. The whole period was divided into eight 5-year sub-periods, for which changes between stocking and catches in five main species (carp, zander, pike, common bream and perch) and changes in the rate of the total catch were compared. Some recommendations for the future exploitation of the Lipno Reservoir are also suggested.
