Tahe, S. (Balai Penelitian Perikanan Pantai, Maros (Indonesia)) | Mansyur, A.
The experiment was conducted at Marana Wet Laboratory of Research Institute for Coastal Fisheries. The objective of the experiment was to identify the effect of mud concentration on the growth and survival rate of banana prawn (Penaeus merguiensis). Fifteen fiberglass tanks, with the dimension 82.5x42.5x60 cm each were used and arranged in a complete randomized design consisted five treatments having three replicates each. The treatments, were 0, 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 ppm of mud. The post larvae of banana prawn weighted 0.08 g/ind. were stocked at 15 ind./tank. The post larvae fed artificial feed which was given at 6 percent of biomassa. The absolute growth and daily growth rate were not significantly different (P0.05) among treatments. The survival rate at control was significantly different (P0.05) from all treatments
