CARDI Barbados annual report 1989/90 is intended more for the general reader than for the technical specialist. It therefore seeks to be comprehensive without being exhaustive. Research was done and presented within the areas of Vegetables, Legumes, Root Crops, Fruits, Sugarcane, Ornamentals, Livestock and Seed Production. One area of focus was plant pests in cabbage, sweet potato and sugarcane. Tissue culture was used for the propagation yam, plantain, cassava, banana, pineapple, anthurium and orchid.
