Effect of inhibitional chilling on germination of some legume plants seeds and health state of seedlings

It was found that crop seeds were infested mainly by the species of Penicilium, Alternaria alternata and some species of the Mucoraceae family. Less numerous were Botrytis cinerea and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Under chiling stress the species of the Mucoraceae family, such as Rhizopus nigricans, Mucor hiemalis, M. circinelloides as well as Penicilium fungi were isolated from dying seedlings. In the pot experiment, the dominant fungi isolated from dying seedlings were Fusarium species and Rhizoctonia solani. The degree of seedling infestation depended mainly on the temperature and increased with its rise. The initial seed water content had no significant effect on the infestation of seedlings in most cases. Botrytis cinerea, Fusarium culmorum, F. avenaceum, F. oxysporum and Penicillium notatum showed high pathogenicity in relation to field bean and yellow lupine seedlings
