Effect of selected technical and operation parameters of the tractors on shear strength of the light soil

Changes in soil shear stress were studied in field experiments as affected by tractor tyre pressure, number of tractor passes on the same track and impact of loads exerted by tractors of different weight. As a result of tyre pressure reduction the soil shear stress decreased by 4-30% for 28 kW tractor and by 2-14% for 72 kW tractor. Tyre pressure in 114 kW tractor affected the soil shear stress the strongest at 0.2-0.3 m depth. The soil shear stress dropped along with the tyre pressure, however, it increased with the tractor weight and the number of vehicle passes
