Reflections on the drafts of reforms in academic educaton and scientific research

Paper presents an analysis of recent situation in Polish academic education and research as well as an evaluation of the reform drafts regarding their adaptation to the requirements of national economy during transformation process. Presented thoughts and conclusions being a common achievement of Polish scientific circles in agricultural engineering result from the discussion held in different centres of the country. The considerations, however, do not comply with agricultural sciences only. The problems of education and research reform are discussed as a whole against the background of coming 21-st century challenges
