[Increasing levels of Arachis pintoi (Krap, y Greg.) in fattening rabbit's mash diets] | Niveles crecientes de Arachis pintoi (Krap y Greg) en dietas en forma de harina para conejos de engorde

In order to evaluate the onclusion of increasing levels of Arachis pintoi (AP) in fattening rabbit's mash diets, one experiment was carried out during 35 days at rabbit production unit of Ezequiel Zamora University (UNELLEZ), Guanare, Venezuela. Fifty New Zealand white weaning rabbits with 1150 +- 150 g body weight, were allocated in 5 treatmens and 5 replications according to a completely randomized desing. The treatments studied were: T1= inclusion of 10 of AP in the diet, T2= 20 of AP in the diet, T3= 30 of AP in the diet, T4= 40 of AP in the diet and T5= commercial pelleted diet (control). The data were anlyzed with ANOVA and the means compared according to Tukey's test. The result showed tha average daily gain was higher (P0.05) in T5 with respect to T1, T2 and T4 (23.8 Vs 15.3, 17.5 and 16.3 g/day) and similar to T3 (18.9 g/day). The feed consumption was higher (P0.05) in the control (79.5, 83.9, 84.9, 87.9 and 93.4 g/day for T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5, respectively). The inclusion of AP didn't decrease the acceptability of the diet. The feed conversion was similar (P0.05) between treatments (5.2, 4.8, 4.5, 4.4 and 4.1, respectively). The feeding cost lower in the mash diets (27.5, 33.6, 39.6 and 30.9 in T1, T2, T3 and T4 with respect to T5). These result confirm tha adding AP in feedstuff for fattening rabbit's mash diets in good alternative to apply in backyard conditions. The best inclusion level of Arachis pintoi in the diet was 30

Se realizo un experimento en la unidad de produccion cunicola de la Universidad Ezequiel Zamora (UNELLEZ), Guanare, durante 35 dias, con el objetivo de evaluar la inclusion de diferentes niveles de Arachis pintoi (mani forrajero) en dietas en forma de harina para conejos de engorde. Se utilizaron 50 gazapos Nueva Zelanda con peso inicial de 1150 +- 150 g, distribuidos en cinco tratamientos y cinco repeticiones segun un diseno completamente al azar. Los tratamientos fueron: T1, T2, T3, T4 y T5 representados por la inclusion de 10, 20, 30, 40 de mani forrajero en la dieta y dieta granulada comercial (testigo), respectivamente. Los promedios fueron comparados con la prueba de Tukey. La ganancia de peso (g/an/dia) fue similar (P0,05) entre los conejos que consumieron la dieta comercial (23,8) y la dieta con 30 de mani forrajero (18,9); mientras que cuando se incluyo 10, 20 y 40 en crecimiento fue menor (P0,05) con respecto al testigo (15,3; 17,5; 16,3, respectivamente). El consumo de alimento no fue afectado negativamente (P0,05) por el nivel de mani forrajero en la dieta, siendo superior (P0,05) para el testigo (79,5; 83,9; 84,9; 87,9 y 93,4 g/an/dia para T1, T2, T3, T4 y T5, respectivamente). Las conversion alimenticia (P0,05) fue: 5,2; 4,8; 4,5; 4,4; y 4,1, en el mismo orden. El costo por alimentacion disminuyo en 27,4; 33,6; 39,6 y 30,9 con respecto a la dieta comercial cuando se suministro T1, T2, T3 y T4, respectivamente. Los resultados demostraron que el nivel optimo de inclusion de Arachis pintoi fue 30 y que su uso como ingrediente en mezclas dieteticas para conejos de engorde, constituye una alternativa aplicable en condiciones de traspatio
