English. The analysis of the stem of Ilex aquifolium L. demonstrates an extremely slow growth. After approximately 90 years the stem reached a height of 11,0 m and a breast-height-diameter of 12,2 cm. - According to the course of the growth can be considered as complete. Despite the extremely low yield level this tree species should not only be protected but on appropriate sites its regeneration should be supported.

Nach annaehernd 90 Jahren erreichte der Stamm eine Hoehe von 11,0 m und einen Brusthoehendurchmesser von 12,2 cm. - Nach dem Verlauf der Wachstumskurven kann das Wachstum als annaehernd abgeschlossen angesehen werden. Trotz des extrem niedrigen Ertragsniveaus sollte ueber den gebotenen Schutz dieser Gehoelzart hinaus auf geeigneten Standorten waldbaulich auf ihre Verjuengung und FoerderungEinfluss genommen werden.
