Phospholipid and fatty acid composition of seeds of two Bulgarian species of tobacco are presented. Tte total content of glyceride oil in Rila 89 (oriental) and Coker 254 (Virginia) tobacco seeds was found to be 34.5 % and 39.0 %, respectively. The general content of phospholipids is 0.3 % in both samples. Phosphatidylinositol (21.2 % and 30.5), phosphatidylcholine (25.5 % and 11.4 %) and phosphatidylethanolamine (7.7 % and 14.1 %) predominate in the phospholipid fraction. The main fatty acid components in the seed glyceride oils are linoleic acid (48.8 % and 14.9 %) and oleic acid (23.3 % and 43.8 %).
