Xenic hybrids of rye

In field experiments 16 traits were analysed. The xenic hybrids were compared with paternal forms and also with a standard - the cultivar Dankowskie Zlote. In respect of the majority of important agronomic traits, xenic hybrids were not interior to the standard cultivar nor to the German hybrid cultivars used as testers. The decisive influence upon height of yield was exterted by decrease of plant height, which was directly connected with a increased number of productive ears per surface unit. Also the combining ability of parental components used for production of xenic hybrids was estimated
