Effect of soil tillage in darkness on weed infestation

A significant difference in number of weeds on one square m and also at weed dry matter yield depend on cultivation system was found. Night ploughing and night pre-sowing cultivation decreased weed infestation of faba bean, spring wheat and potato by 29.4, 46.2 and 42.3 percent, respectively. Infestation by white goose-foot decreased mostly in consequence of night cultivation and as result of fact that the yields of tested crop species significantly increased
