The mountain areas fulfil both productive and many non-productive functions. Agricultural production is one of the most important functions of the rural areas in these regions. The possibilities of the agricultural production development and other non-agricultural spheres of economy depend, to a large extent, on the economic infrastructure. The objective of the present study was to analyse the economic infrastructure of the rural areas in the Sudety, including small enterprises, craft and farm services, retail trade and restaurants, sales and purchasing stations of agricultural products
