Prediction of vertical peat-moorsh soil profile movements caused by moisture content changes

Paper presents validation of a method to predict vertical movements of peat-moorsh soil profile affected by water content changes and easily measured physical properties of soil clods i.e. shrinkage characteristics and geometry factor. The method was tested in two year field experients. Validation of the method as against two year field data showed good agreement what confirmed the possibility of its using to prediction of volume changes in peat-moorsh soil profiles
