Effects of various methods of widening the brood nest in the spring

Colonies in the control group were widened in the traditional way (1-2 frames were added if necessary in one time), the second group was added 5-6 combs in one time and in the third group the nest was filled up with frames so that the nest could have a complete number of them. Groups, which were intensively widened apart from frames with combs were also widened by frames with foundation in the way so that combs with a brood were not separated by them. It was established that intensive widening of nests does not negatively consist in development of bee colonies in the spring and obtained production results
