The Lipizzaner horse with his more than 400 years long history represents the world's irreplaceable cultural symbol. Until the disintegration of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy the Lipizzaner had been famous as royal horse and later became manysided applicable horse according to different rearings and countries. Today the Lipizzaner horse is not numerous although it is presented in many countries in Europe and other continents. The conservation of breed and his classical characteristics demand the co-operation between breeding organizations. Slovenia must dedicate more attention to the Lipizzaner horse and be prepared to maintain the stud-book of the origin of the breed.
