Heavy metal contents of soil as a result of long-term mineral fertilization and liming. Pt. 1. Copper, zinc and lead contents

In the 0-1- cm soil layer mineral fertilization led to differences in the total copper content of soil. The lowest contents were found in the soil treated with ammonium nitrate against a PK background. Differing mineral fertilization caused a decrease in the level of total zinc in the topsoil but had no effect on lead contents. In the 10-20 cm layer the levels of total forms of the studied metals were generally lower than in the topsoil. Liming caused a decrease in the levels of total forms of Cu, Zn and Pb in both soil layers. The proportion of forms soluble in 1 mol/cubic dm HCl in the total metal content was higher in the 0-10 cm layer. Liming caused a decline in the percentage of the soluble forms of studied metals in their total contents
