Development of beef cattle breeding programme in Poland, since year 1996, is described. The main achievements are: 31 percent of national cow population inseminated with the semen of bred in Poland beef sires and increase number of pure bred cows of 12 beef breeds (predominantly Limousine and Hereford) to 6500 animals.
