In order to increase productivity of wheat in research command areas (RCA) of the Agriculture Research Station, Lumle research activities were implemented on varietal improvement and management. Varietal improvement activities included, hybridization among potential genotypes, selection from segregating generations, evaluation of advanced genotypes for yield potentials, testing selected genotypes under farmers field conditions, with farmers' management conditions and testing facultative wheat genotypes for grain yield. Similarly, activities under management research included, deate of sowing and nutrient management for increased grain setting. Collaborative research with NWRP on varietal development for terai, tar and low hills was also conduced during 1999/00.
