Regional diversity of straw balance

The attempt to balance cereal crops and rape straw in the regional aspect (in voivodeships) was undertaken in the paper. Straw production and its consumption on bedding and feed was evaluated. The amounts of straw that should be incorporated to the soil in order to keep the equilibrium between reproduction and degradation of soil organic matter were determined. The analysis showed that about 30 percent (more than 8 millions t) of produced straw can be used for non-agricultural implements
