Experiments were conducted over 1982-98 on Cuban geese (KD01), selected for reproductive traits, Rhine geese (ReD01) selected for higher meatiness and lower fatness, and Roman geese (Ro), which were not selected. The birds were kept in similar environment conditions and fed in the same way. The study presents mean values of and time trends in meatliness traits. In 12-week-old Cuban geese of both sexes there were noted positive time trends in the body weight, sternum crest lenght and meat and fat yield in the carcass. The time trend in percentage fat content in the carcass was found negative. In Rhine and Roman geese of both sexes positive time trends were observed in sternum crest lenght and in the percentage meat yield in the carcass. Similarly there were noted favourable negative time trends in the weight and percentage fat content in the carcass
