Process of soil separation on a chain web may be monitored by weighing the mixture occurring on movable part of chain web. The process may be controlled by the change of chain web speed in order to keep the proper chain web speed to ground speed ratio, within the range 0.8-1.5. Under such working conditions the tuber damage will be the lowest. An increase in amplitude of shaker vibration from 10 to 50 mm results in lower efficiency of soil sifting at 2.8-3.5% increase of tuber damages
