Effect of long-term organic fertilization on the selenium content in lessive soil

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of long-term organic fertilization on the total and DTPA-extractable selenium content in lessive soil. The soil was manured with farmyard manure and pig slurry at the rates of 20, 40, 60 and 80 t/ha. Total selenium content of the investigated soil is considered as low for animal nutrition needs. Its range from 1.5 to 5.3 percent indicate low mobility and availability to plants
