The paper presents the results of an experiment carried out in 1996-97. The experiment scheme comprised four soil tillage methods on a many-year fallow plot. The weed infestations were evaluated before tillage (on fallow surface), and after implemented tillage methods, before the wheat harvest. The studies have shown that changed habitat conditions, due to break of the fallow continuity, caused changes in species composition of phytocenosis. The number of short-term taxons increased
